WhatsApp to Launch ‘Community’ Tab Soon

The popular instant messaging software WhatsApp is working on a new community page. The feature will allow group admins to add certain groups to a “Community,” according to WABetaInfo, a feature tracker.

These groups will be listed together in the Community tab of the app. In the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.6.9, the community Tab functionality has been discovered. The functionality is currently unavailable because the messaging platform is working on it. It takes the place of the camera symbol that was present in the previous edition.

Because the messaging platform is still working on it, the functionality isn’t available yet. Although no official release date has been set, the functionality is expected to be available shortly.

A screenshot of the Community tab icon has been submitted by the feature tracker. Community Tab is a shortcut to the “Community Home” function, according to the report. Communities will most likely be end-to-end encrypted private places that provide group managers more power.
